Welcome, welcome, to this 2022 Congress!
Wow it’s great to see you all!
Welcome to those leaders who have attended Congresses in the past all the way back to when we had our first NHFC conference at Assisi Heights convent in 2003.
We are blest with your presence and your stamina to be continuing in the leadership of this country.
And welcome to those leaders who are here for the first time representing your organizations or attending as advocates for health freedom in your community.
We are so delighted you are here and looking forward to learning from your wisdom and perspectives.
I wanted to begin by giving a little bit of background about the Congress to those who are new to the Congress.
First, before the year 2000, and before the Congress began, there were health freedom organizations founded and working hard for health freedom in our country.
Many of them are here with us today. National Health Federation is the oldest. And there is Citizens for Health, NVIC, Alliance for Natural Health, DAMS, NASH, Organic Consumers Association and Weston A. Price.
All of these organizations have developed areas of expertise and have been supporting and education consumers around the world with truthful and healthful messaging for years.
National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC), the hosting organization for the Congress, was founded 20 years ago this year, originally to meet the needs of many states who wanted to pass laws to protect the right of holistic healers to practice their vocation.
A group of us had passed a law in Minnesota, MN146A, that protected the right of all unlicensed healers to practice complementary and alternative health care. And other states wanted to do the same.
So, we founded a national organization, a 501(c)3 non-profit, to offer support to others around the country to protect access to health options.
But we wanted our national vision to be much broader than our local work yet still keep our primary focus on making sure that healers could practice in every state.
We had learned that practitioners, both licensed and unlicensed were being shut down, under unfair and restrictive laws, simply because they posed competition for the conventional medical industry.
That food was our medicine, but that there were great attempts to prohibit the use of food in healing by restrictive laws, or to make truthful claims about the benefits of food and remedies in the healing process.
That dangerous chemicals were being doused on our plants and fields and earth and food, and we supported clean organic food.
That vaccines and a number of other drugs and food additives were causing dangerous side effects that were being marginalized, and that laws were being passed to force children to get vaccinated if they wanted to have an education.
Homeopathy and energy medicine was especially in the cross hairs of drug medicines and homeopathy was being persecuted.
Our portable hand-set telephones were causing us headaches.
And the emergency powers acts passed in most states in 2001 after 911 had taken away people’s rights to decline government countermeasures during future emergencies.
NHFC wanted to be active in all of these issues and we really wanted to understand the legal issues, what the laws actually said. We supported the concepts that laws matter. And we wanted to know which laws needed to be changed in order to protect our ability as humans to lead healthy lives and to be able to make our own decisions about that and have access to what we needed to survive.
After we launched, we began to be asked by groups around the country for help, groups who wanted to change the law. So, we founded a sister lobbying organization, National Health Freedom Action, so we could lobby and help change laws.
The Congress organically grew over the years out of a desire to collaborate with other organizations to strengthen the health freedom movement.
National Health Freedom Coalition hosted a national health freedom conference in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
In 2006 we held a World Congress with 14 countries attending and we passed an International Declaration of Health Freedom which hopefully is in your packets.
In 2007 and 2008 we held the US Health Freedom Assembly, and since then have held the US Health Freedom Congress with Voting Members and resolution consideration.
All together this will be our 13th national gathering.
And here we are all together today to collaborate once again in a time of crisis, a time that we had hoped we would not ever see on this planet.
It is understandable that we all want to be happy and comfortable,
We have quickly gone from candlesticks to electricity, horses to bicycles and cars, iceboxes to refrigerators, hearths to electric ovens, washing boards to washing machines, clothes lines to dryers, horse drawn plows to tractors, and corn hand pickers to combines.
But we also went from understanding how to do all those things to not knowing how to do all of those things without technology.
And with our health and healing experiences we went from preventive health and staying in out of a cold rain, to the use of drugs such as NyQuil. We went from herbal and homeopathic remedies to pharmaceutical drugs. We went from midwives and natural births to hospital and obstetric births, from grieving our lost relative that died of a heart attack to having access to open heart surgeries and extending life of critically ill people.
Many of the changes that came to us with technological advances have made our lives so very much more comfortable. Believe me I am glad I have a washing machine. But those comforts also demanded that we depended on others whom we did not know.
The problem that has come forward is that our trusted sources for comfort have become not just comfort sources but survival sources. In many instances we depend on technology and those who manufacture, distribute, and utilize technology, for our survival.
Over the years, as communication technology has advanced, moving from print to radio to TV to film, our battles for truth have become more complex. Not only was technology being used to produce dangerous substances hurting our health during peacetime and during war, but communication technology was advancing and being used to quickly and massively proliferate messaging.
And in the words of Bertrand Russel in his controversial book in 1953, “The Impact of Science on Society” he expounded on the importance of mass psychology and the growth of modern methods of propaganda. He stated:
“It may be hoped that in time anybody will be able to persuade anybody of anything if he can catch the patient young and is provided by the state with money and equipment. This subject will make great strides when it is taken up by scientists under a scientific dictatorship”
Over my lifetime messaging has begun to be used for everything from selling soap, to getting elected, to getting support for starting a war.
However, the messaging around technological advances has morphed markedly from comfort ads. It has currently risen to almost all fear-based survival language.
Instead of hearing how wonderful a product works, now we are hearing messaging like: “You won’t die if ”; “Be safe and get a burglar alarm”; “Be safe and go to a hospital for your birth”; “Wear a glucose chip on your arm so you don’t go into a coma and die unnecessarily”; “Take aspirin every day and you will live longer”; “It’s dangerous to leave home without your iPhone”; “You and others will die if you don’t get vaccinated”; “Wear an emergency caller necklace if you are over 65”; “Get chemotherapy, radiation and surgery for tumors”; and much more.
A key point in messaging is that much of this fear messaging is sent by people who have a financial interest in your response.
And in the past recent years science is expanding a new level of technological exploration and wishing to create new dependencies.
Technology holders want to interface external technology with our bodies directly. Pacemakers were just the beginning. Now they are creating tracking systems to implant in your body for your convenience. You will be able to use your body, your hand, your eye recognition, to do bank deposits, travel, or get a medical test.
And it is continuing on this trajectory to the replacing of human parts with technical parts in order to create hybrid humans. Some call it transhumanism.
The key problem that we all have with this is that it may become very difficult to live without this technology. Even now there are less microwave radiation spaces free of frequencies. And the holders of technology have already publicly reported plans to give social status and opportunity points to those who comply with what they want you to do.
In order for that process to be lucrative and be efficient in organizing society each individual will have to decide what to do about their bodies and whether they care if their bodies are invaded.
I think the corporate finance machine created the current crisis assuming and trusting that they had already captured the people of the world with their messaging of dependency and fear.
But I think they underestimated the power of the human spirit.
Discerning the theme for this Congress was quite a journey. But there was a clear thread about why we wanted to bring all of us together again for a Congress. It was to discuss:
Health Freedom – Piercing the Veil of Indoctrination
Why did we choose that word indoctrination?
Indoctrination: the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically.
    Loved that definition.
Many of us have come to know that the deepest mountain we are up against. The population has been trained to be dependent and to not think critically.
Each one of us I am sure, has had the courage to break out of a particular indoctrination in our own personal lives in order to have the courage to be in this movement. That is where we get the strength to work for another way, a better way, a better world.
And it is that wisdom that we utilize when we are being agents of change. We have to really understand our own journeys of freeing ourselves from indoctrination. Because each person we interact with has the potential to be open and free and able to change and hear another way. If we can present it in a way that they can receive.
We can talk all day about health freedom, working to convince people of the truth of what is going on, but it will be helpful if we can understand indoctrination, how does that happen, how did that happen to us and in the lives of our loves ones, and even of the people of the world.
And the word piercing, is equally important. What went so deep within us that we were personally able to see that we were indoctrinated and needed to find another view? There must have been a special circumstance or happening.
What is the moment in time when someone moves the other way. Was it because we received new information? Was it because someone we loved role modeled another way? Was it because we were in a crisis with no way out?
I think of piercing as a sharp turning point. What sharp arrows of truth and talents do we have in our quivers to help pierce the veil of indoctrination.
Today we will be exploring ways to lift the veil of indoctrination.
The indoctrination that attempts to have us believe that
we should not be in charge of our own bodies and our own life decisions and that someone else or something else knows best what kind of world we need for our health, our everyday life, our personal freedom and our survival.
I am looking forward to working with all of you these two days to illuminate how to pierce the veil of indoctrination that is forced upon us by actors that are not trusted stewards of the human family.
You are the experts now; we are the boots on the ground. The indoctrination of dependency on technology without discernment and critical thinking about its proper use is threatening the life of our family members and of mother earth.
Will we be teachers, artists, fighters, lobbyists, builders, writers, farmers, healers, in this process?
We all know that asking people to give up a survival technique without giving them something else to depend on or consider doesn’t often work.
So, let’s find ways together to pierce the veil, tell the truth in a digestible fashion, and design solutions and models for others to consider. We can give others what they need to see a better way, and maybe they will have the courage to possibly get involved in promoting a better way.
I look forward to discussing piercing the veil of indoctrination with you this weekend.
    Diane
